Private, Comfortable, Traditional Japanese House

The house is recently remodeled, and there are built-in kitchen, television, washing machine, etc. It is traditional Japanese style house with 2 stories, and has a very cozy feeling (60 square meters). The house is fully stocked with pretty much everything you would need for a comfortable stay:D

Once you confirm the reservation, we will send you very detailed information about our house (how to check-in/check-out, direction, wifi, etc.) via email. Please read them before your arrival and ask us any questions:)

What is different about our house ?

※Completely Private
You can have the whole house to yourself. Absolutely no sharing with others.

※Family Friendly
Our house is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood, and comfortably hosts up to 4 guests. It's Wheelchair-accessible (1st floor), and there are children's toys (badminton, kickboards, Chromecast, etc.), so it's perfect for a family trip!

It's Official and Legal
We've applied for the official "Japanese-style guesthouse license 簡易宿泊業", so you can feel completely safe, and no awkwardness with neighbors!

※Professionally Cleaned
We hire professional cleaning stuff and use fresh and clean lines. We also use futon cleaner every time to keep them clean, so you can feel comfortable, and have a good rest.

※Free Parking and Bicycles
A free parking spot in front of the house (garden), and 4 bicycles available for guests.

※Fully Stocked Kitchen
Yes, you can definitely cook in our house! Everything you would need for cooking is prepared in our kitchen.

***ACCOMMODATIONS***
We stock our house with all the necessities: coffee/tea, variety of cooking utensils, condiments, dinnerwares, paper towels, garbage bags, liquid dish soap, bath products, towels, hair dryer, clean linens, cleaning products, laundry products, toilet paper, tissues, iron & ironing board, stationeries, air conditioner(each room), air purifier/humidifier, futon dehumidifier/dryer, guidebooks, tourist pamphlets, chess, cards, games, Chromecast, etc. There are pretty much everything you would need for a comfortable stay, so it feels very "homey" and you can pack light!

***PASSPORT REQUIRED***
We've applied for the official "Japanese-style guesthouse license"簡易宿泊業, thus required to obtain a hardcopy of our guests' passport.

Please bring a hardcopy of everyone's passport and put it inside the envelope on the table or please take a picture and send it via Airbnb massage.

***ADDITIONAL DISCOUNT***
We do not charge children under 5 years old, and give additional discounts to children under 12 years old. Also, we would give additional discounts for larger groups and longer stays.

***CHECK-IN, CHECK-OUT***
Self-Check-in, Self-Check-out style! - Since I have a full time job (8:00am - 6:00pm), I won't be there meet you at your check-in and check-out. The house key is inside the lockbox at the entrance. The instruction for the check-in/check-out process is in the document we will send via email. Please read them BEFORE your arrival and ask us any questions;)

Check-in time: anytime after 14 am
Check-out time: anytime before 11 am

High speed, unlimited internet available at house.

***KITCHEN***
There are build-in kitchen, induction cooktop, cooking utensils, microwave, dinerwares, condiments, etc. - pretty much everything you need for cooking is available in our kitchen! Please feel free to use everything while you are here;D

Complimentary drinks, teas and coffee, fruit jam&butter, variety of condiments, bread for cooking and breakfast.

***BICYCLES***
4 bicycles available for you - parked in the garden. Please keep them in the garden, and don't park them on the street in front of the house.

***PARKING****
A free parking spot available for one vehicle in front of the house (in the garden). There is another car usually parked there too, so when you park, please park it in the far left.

****FUTONS***
We have 4 sets of futon mattress for our guests - 2sets on each floor (inside the futon closet). We hire professional cleaning stuff and use fresh and clean lines, so you can feel comfortable and have a good rest!

***LAUNDRY ***
Washing machine and dryer, located outside. You can either hang clothe in garden or use a rooftop terrace on the 2F. Detergents and softeners available.

***HOME SECURITY***
The listing is remodeled all-electric house. For our guests' safety, we have first-aid box located inside the cabinet in the living room, and installed wired fire alarms, fire extinguisher, intruder alarm (it's a very safe neighborhood, so you probably do not need this).

It was tastefully adorned with seasonal decorations that exemplify Japanese culture and the flower arrangements were gorgeous. The house is near the center of Tokushima which was very convenient. One of the purposes of my trip was to see Awa Odori and purchase Awa Odori goods while I was in town. She and her assistant assisted me in making arrangements to do so. Her aunt is a leader of a famous Awa Ordori group and was also very kind to help. I was so lucky to connect to these wonderful people. Our deep appreciation and gratitude to Yoriko for her hospitality. We highly recommended a stay at her home. Miki

Hello!
I rent the entire second- story house to only one group at a time, assuring a private, relaxing, and comfortable stay. All rooms reflect the Showa era décor, and the two neighboring Tatami rooms (straw mats on the floors) open to a lovely Tsubo-niwa (courtyard).
I was inspired to open the guesthouse because of the kindness and hospitality I received when my husband and I lived in Taiwan. I was 45 years old, and it was the first time I had lived in a foreign country. Despite taking classes to learn Chinese, I could not pick up the language. I cried in frustration but with the help of my Taiwanese friends and fellow students, I realized that language didn’t have to be a barrier to enjoying a foreign experience. There are many ways people can connect without words.
After leaving Taiwan, I visited my daughter who was attending college in New York. Instead of staying in an expensive hotel, my daughter suggested that I rent an apartment through Airbnb.
For 10 days I lived like a New Yorker. I shopped in neighborhood grocery stores, prepared dinners for my daughter, and took short weekend trips to explore areas outside of the city. I didn’t feel like a tourist; I felt like a New Yorker.
That is when I began thinking about starting a guesthouse to give visitors the experience of living in my hometown as we had in New York. With the encouragement of my husband and daughter, I renovated the house where my in-laws had had once lived. My goal was to create a cozy guesthouse that would feel like visitors home away from home. As I was working on the renovations, I heard my late mother-in-law’s voice saying, “Keep going. I want you to share the house I loved with others.” We welcomed our first guests in 2014.
We do everything to ensure quality for our guests our guests happiness and comfort and to introduce them to our town, its culture, and its surroundings.

Yue is a small guest house that receives only one group of guests at a time. We now provide total non-face-to-face service. We truly regret not being able to see you in person during your stay. We will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please feel free to use all rooms (70m2) except the locked storage room on the second floor.

I named our guesthouse Vacation house 月Yue. The letter “月” , which means moon, comes from our daughter’s name. I wanted to honor her for encouraging me to open the guesthouse. Yue is the Chinese pronunciation of “月,” and our way of expressing our gratitude for the hospitality we received in Taiwan.
