The Royal Kuhio is a good building & we appreciated that we never heard noise from the condos next to or above us. We did hear garbage trucks, roosters & sirens sometimes. It's in a great location, with bus service right outside the door, & only 2 blocks to the Main Street in Waikiki (Kalakaua) via Seaside & 2 blocks to the Ali War Canal. Although we didn't use it, this condo includes a parking space, which could cost a fortune in Waikiki. The key fob to the elevators and door keys always worked. The elevators to the 12th floor, were quite quick. The unit had almost new fridge & stove, with a perfectly clean oven. We did not find any oven safe pans, but we bought a pizza pan and left it there. Microwave, drip coffee maker, hot water boiler, stove top pots & pans, iron, hair dryer & lots of clothes hangers were included. We liked the comfortable chairs to sit on the balcony & have coffee in the morning. The unit faced the mountains, so was cooler. The air conditioner & ceiling fans worked well. If I could change somethings, the toilet area & shower area seemed dusty & the grout somewhat stained. The shower worked well. Also, there were a couple dead potted plants on the balcony. Some items there, one may find useful include a boggie board, sand toys, a cooler, a beach mat. The metal chairs out there are comfy, but they and the table need a coat of paint, as rust is showing. There are many hangers included. Also, in the hall closet a blow up bed (we didn't try it), yoga mat, and cleaning equipment. The window air conditioner & the bathroom fan are somewhat noisy. The king size bed was very comfortable. The TV is in the middle of the condo & we couldn't figure out how to make it get channels. Luckily, we brought a ROKU along. We flattened the sofa, & put sheets on it, so the person who needed to watch TV after the other went to bed, could do it. This is a no smoking property, including the balconies. The property manager or host was easy to contact, quick to respond and very helpful. We stayed 69 days and they do not provide expendables, so we went to Walmart or Sam's Club(close to Ala Moana) for more toilet paper, kleenexes, dish detergent, bath soap, coffee, etc. We would stay here again & recommend it to family or friends.
